Think Positive!  One thing that I learned in this lockdown Is that one should always stay happy and  positive.  When this lockdown started there were many people who were not thinking positive about it even I was not, but then one day I thought that everyone should stay positive and make this lockdown and this time fruitful by taking this as an opportunity to try new things, learn new things, contacting those whom we have lost touch with because of bussy schedules and spending time with our loved ones.  Are you a glass half-empty or half-full sort of person?  Studies have demonstrated that both can impact your physical and mental health and that being a positive thinker is the better of the two. Positive thinking isn’t magic and it won’t make all of your problems disappear. What it will do is make problems seem more manageable and help you approach hardships in a more positive and productive way. Positive thinking can be achieved through a few different techniqu...

K-POP & K- DRAMA ! K-Pop or K-Drama are words used to refer Korean Music and Korean Drama. The current pandemic has created crises of unprecedented nature for almost everyone on our planet. But as they say challenges create opportunities I started to develop interest in Korean music and dramas.   As I am learning Hangul ( The official language of Korea) I wanted to share the factors that led me to the world of “K” and that are K-Drama, K-Pop, K-Cuisine, K-Culture and K-Beauty. The very first factor that opened the gates of K world was GOT 7’s (Just Right). It is a group of 7 smart and hardworking boys – Mark Tuan, JB , Jackson, Jinyoung , Youngjae , Bam Bam and Yugyeom. Many people think when we talk about K-Pop its BTS the most sensational K-Pop boy band but no for me it was not BTS the one who opened the gates of K-pop for me. I’m a huge fan of GOT7, EXO and BTS. There are many hit songs of these groups and that are  GOT7’S ( Just Right, Last Piece, Fly...

Let's Travel ! It’s December of the year 2020and WFH is still continuing. We are a family of people; all working on odd hours and thus hardly get time to travel. Now with the threat of CV-19 still there, but people taking it in stride, we also decide to be brave about it and decided to venture out. Between seeing the tigers at Ranthambore and experiencing the snow for the first time, Snow won and we all happily started packing for Srinagar. Our itinerary was Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg. The temperature at the peak showed -18 degrees in the evenings, and we were all so kicked about it. So, our first step, like a true blue Delhiite was to go shopping and we landed at the Decathlon store in search of everything warm – neck warmers, leg warmers, woolen mittens – you name it, and we picked it. Morning flight landed us at the Srinagar airport, where after the customary antigen test, we headed for our houseboat in Dal lake. We were heartily welcomed to our houseboat “Monalisa”...

Cool Heads..Warm Hearts !!! Life in 2020 has taught me one of the many things. The minute my pompous head thinks it has aced it all, life would throw yet another curveball that has me spinning. We are working in truly unique times. We are bravely entering uncharted territory. Struggles for travel to college have been replaced with Struggles to login for class. Traffic has been replaced with Internet congestion. Rules of daily existence have changed and so have our own individual selves. Somewhere, this year has forced all of us, regardless of age, to look deep within us and introspect. It has given us a chance to reach out to people without actually reaching out to them physically. It has actually taught us the rule of equanimity has become all the more important to us today. We have all learnt to accept this rule and started applying it to our inner selves and start a process of healing. However, an important aspect which can’t be ignored is this equanimity is as much requ...

Apart from many things that I learnt during WFH 2020 phase, the strongest one is to follow my passion in all fields. One such for me is my love for animals. In my opinion entire world is divided into2 kinds of people: one, who love animals and others, who don’t exist. In my belief everyone has a spirit animal and that’s who we fall in love with – it could vary from canine, feline, equine or avis – all that matters in the end is who you fall in relationship with. My spirit animal, or my familiar (a term most Sabrina fans on Netflix would know) are DOGS. I grew up having one as a watchover friend and since then have never been away from them. I count this as the second biggest blessing of my life and owe a lot to my family for this. He ensured that not only do I get over my initial fear of them, but also their eternal presence in my life. Over the years, I have realized that a lot of my character traits were shaped up because of their furry presence. Penning down few for everyone’s...

Work Mode – ON !   While picking up all the existential skills and new hobbies during the covid forced stay-at-home phase, one thing which kept picking at the back of my mind was the need to get a taste of real corporate life. I was well aware of it being a necessity for college credit points, but at a personal level too I was equally eager to explore the various opportunities available. Thus having made my mind to search for an adequate internship, I set myself at the task. First step was to choose a specialisation and after lot of search and studying industry trends, settled in for the field of “Digital Marketing”. A major role in this regard was also played by my earlier skillset of a series of Google certifications I had undertaken as part of upgrading my knowledge.   In the entire tenure, I interned with 2 diverse companies - Venuegide and Delhi-very. as a matter of fact, my internship at Delhi-very is still on at the time of writing this blog and I ...

Life on Wheels:- In my endeavor to better my life learnings, I decided to also upgrade my life from 2 wheels to 4 wheels. While my brain immediately started dreaming of the car I will soon (like soon!) buy for myself in future, it also directed me towards searching up for the nearest car driving schools. After an intense research, which could have put any scientist to shame, I zeroed on the cliché “Your Driving School”. They had the best google ratings for my neighborhood and claim to teach driving to even a 4-year-old (though I wonder what made them write so!). I summed up all my courage, spoke to Mr. Manoj and agree to his dictatorial terms of getting up at 0500 am every morning since as per him “subah ka time traffic kam hota hain, ladies log ko sahin lagta hain”. The feminist in me cringed at his words and planned to give it back to him one day by flying past him. However, for now, I meekly agreed and even slept at an ungodly early hour of 1100pm. One look at the new ...
